Tours, cruises and charters around Tampa Bay

Dolphins in the bay, a sunset off Clearwater, a cigar-rolling history lesson in Ybor City, or a morning on the water with a rod in your hand. Tell us who's coming and what they'd enjoy, and you get options and a price before you book.

  • Licensed captains and insured local operators
  • The full price before you book
  • Weather holds rebooked, not charged
  • Tampa, St. Petersburg and Clearwater

How it works

  1. Tell us about the group. Date or range, how many people, ages, and whether anyone gets seasick or can't walk far.
  2. Get options and a price. Two or three trips that fit, each with the full price including gear, fuel and fees.
  3. Book it. Pick one, pay the deposit, and get the meeting point, departure time and what to bring in writing.
  4. Show up and go. The captain or guide handles the rest. If weather cancels the trip, you rebook or get the deposit back.

What makes Tampa Bay a good place to get outside

A shallow, protected bay, a working waterfront and a 19th-century cigar district within a half hour of each other.

Dolphins live here year-round

Tampa Bay's bottlenose dolphins don't migrate, so a cruise in January has as good a chance of a sighting as one in July. The sunset trips run earlier in winter and later in summer.

Dolphin and sunset cruises

Shallow flats and deep passes

Inshore anglers fish grass flats a few feet deep for snook, redfish and trout. Head out the passes and the Gulf opens up for grouper and snapper. One bay, two very different trips.

Fishing charters

Mangrove tunnels

Weedon Island, Caladesi Island and Cockroach Bay have marked paddling trails through mangroves that you can only reach by kayak or paddleboard, with manatees in the warm months and birds all year.

Kayak and eco tours

Ybor City

Tampa's cigar-making district is a National Historic Landmark, with brick factories, social clubs and a streetcar line that connects it to downtown. It walks well and eats better.

Where we work

Tampa and the communities around it in Hillsborough, Pasco and Pinellas counties.

Common questions

How far ahead should I book?

A week or two is plenty most of the year. Weekends from February through April, spring break and the weeks around Gasparilla and the holidays book out sooner, especially for boats that take a whole group.

What happens if the weather is bad?

Captains make the call based on wind and lightning, not a cloudy forecast. If they cancel, you rebook or get the deposit back. Summer afternoons bring storms, which is why most summer boat trips leave in the morning.

Are the captains licensed?

Charter captains carrying passengers hold a U.S. Coast Guard credential, and on-water trips are operated by licensed captains and insured local operators. Ask for the captain's name and credential when you book if you'd like to check it.

Which areas do you cover?

Departures from Tampa, South Tampa, downtown, Apollo Beach, St. Petersburg and Clearwater, with walking and brewery tours in Ybor City, downtown Tampa, Seminole Heights and St. Petersburg. See the area list.

Can kids come?

On most cruises, eco tours and walking tours, yes, and life jackets in children's sizes are on board. Fishing charters and brewery tours have their own age rules, which you'll get before booking.
